Tragically Bad Art

After a long hiatus, I've come back to realize that the PhotoBucket account that I use to host my icons crashed. Just in case anyone still needs these icons, I'll be working on reposting them as well as adding new sets.

Sorry for the inconvenience, and drop me a line if you find anything here useful or if you have icon requests!

Felicia Day is just one of those people who, just by virtue of existing in a visual form online, makes me make icons. Not only is she geeky and adorable, but she always makes the best faces.

I posted most of my Penny icons earlier (I've since made a few more, but not enough to warrant another post), so here's the rest of my Felicia collection. Like other catch-all posts, this batch of icons covers a fairly significant range of time and includes movies, publicity stills, and whatever else I could find. Try to enjoy!

More of a favor than a request, but the result's the same!

I found it oddly difficult to find BWE screencaps of quality, so I'm afraid these icons are less than fabulous. The main goal was to find a variety of facial expressions--no small feat when dealing with Michael Pitt ("blank" and "confused" are his favorites). Hopefully, though, these will work for roleplaying purposes!

Oh--the handful of BWE icons I posted previously are in here, too. Seemed like the logical thing to do.

Do you ever encounter an actor who you kind of like in spite of the fact that you can't think of anything you personally like about them? Yeah. That's Michael Pitt for me, but after playing a character with his face for five years, I've grown attached.

This is basically a catch-all for the better MP icons I've made over the years. You'll see quite a few "Murder by Numbers" icons (it's such a dreadful film, but Gosling's and Pitt's characters are kind of brilliant), a couple from "Boardwalk Empire," a fair amount from MP's modeling career, and assorted others (including icons that aren't straight-up blanks!). He's not a bad PB, truth be told--just obscure enough to avoid face doubles and instant recognition, a bit odd-looking.

Downside: not a lot of facial expressions. Upside: a decade's worth of movies, looks, and styles to choose from. Oh, and lovely eyes.

What? A child? Why, yes.

There was a sort-of-request for icons of Grace Jeanette in period clothing (or at least nothing as futuristic as what she wears in most images I could find) for a pixy character. I'm not sure if I was the least bit successful in filling that request, but Grace is adorable and makes some of the best faces. Her eyes are so blue, too! She'd be awesome for a troublesome character; check that wild red hair.

To round off the lady musicians kick, here's Indie artist Sharon Van Etten (once again, do check out her music if you can; it's very thoughtful). She has an incredibly versatile look (I swear she changes her age at will considering the short amount of time that elapsed between the earliest pictures and the latest) and makes some great expressions. Not as many expressions as you might get with an actor, but I kind of like the idea of a musician PB.

It's a singer day!

Have some icons of the adorable Crystal Kay, a Japanese singer and songwriter. Well... sometimes she's adorable. For a singer, I think her expressions are pretty versatile and would work well for a quirky, outgoing character. Genetically she's African American and Korean, so if you're looking for that specific combo... here you go!

Next up is the lovely Fay Wolf, who is... basically everything. I'll call her a singer (check her out on Spotify, seriously), but she also acts, organizes, and does who-knows-what-else. She's also openly bisexual and trying to dispel myths about bisexuality, which makes her double-amazing.

There aren't a lot of pictures of her out there, but I really like the ones I could find.

This lady has an awesome face, okay. I don't know a whole lot about her other than that she's an English actress and ridiculously hard to find pictures of. Enjoy!

On the topic of gorgeous women--wait, there wasn't a topic? Regardless, here's a super-small batch of Sandra Vergara (Fright Night's ill-fated Ginger) icons. There aren't a lot of pictures of her out there, but I'm hoping that we'll be seeing more of her. A lot more.

A handful of icons of the beautiful Zoe Saldana, primarily as Uhura from Star Trek XI. She's so, so much easier to icon than Anton Yelchin... partly because she doesn't blend into the walls, mostly because she looks amazing from every angle.

Icons by request! Well, the Robin ones were. I love the original "Batman" television series and had to make a few non-Robin icons. How can I not make icons of Julie Newmar's statuesque Catwoman?

Apologies for the color on some of these. The source images were a little difficult to work with, so I went color saturation crazy... which kind of suits the show.

Movie-specific icon post! I have a decent collection of Anton Yelchin as Pavel Chekov in the Star Trek remake for my own purposes and I'll throw 'em out here if anyone needs one. I'll add the banner I'm currently using on at the end, as well.

"Star Trek XI" is so, so hard to make icons for. Damn J.J. and his lensflares! Plus, the interior of the Enterprise is so stark and the lighting's so direct that poor Anton blends right into the background. I just saturated the heck out of some of them... and not in a good way. Also, command gold? Not a pretty color to play with. I've made and remade these icons and I think this is as good as it'll get.

Oh--do pardon me for not posting them in any kind of order. You're clever; I'm sure you can suss it out.

Just a wee set of icons for Penny, Felicia Day's sweet and ultimately doomed character in "Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog." The cap quality wasn't that great, but such is life! I tacked on a couple of icons made from scans of the DHSAB comics as well as some cropped comic images (really, though, real-Felicia is so much prettier than comic-Felicia). There's also a banner that I've been using for RP purposes at the end, should you have a use for that!

Spoiler warning for DHSAB!

Let me preface this by saying that this boy is adorable. Not perfect, but so, so adorable.

Okay! This post will have icons ranging all the way from Anton's early work (like in "Hearts in Atlantis," which is brilliant and also stars Sir Anthony Hopkins) to the more recent "Terminator Salvation" and beyond. I would apologize for the massive number of "Charlie Bartlett" icons, but I'm not sorry at all. If Indie films are your thing, I highly recommend it.

I'll have more movie-specific Anton posts. For now, just admire his facial expressions.

A (relatively) small batch; there will be more, as Ryan Gosling has an excellent face and I often find myself in need of icons featuring said face. The bulk of these are from "Stay" (this journal's theme is entirely related to this movie and you need to go watch it) and the more recent "Drive."

I really do love his face.
